The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development organization, with an enormous potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of duty, commitment, dedication, discipline and moral values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with a distinct emphasis on social services, discipline and adventure training.

The NCC Army wing was introduced in Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College in the year 1957. NCC Rifles was inaugurated in 1961. NCC Air wing was introduced in the year 2000. The cadets of SRC attend national and regional camps regularly and bring laurels to the institution.It is a pride that SRC has the highest enrolled strength of 262 cadets in Tamil Nadu from Army and Air wing.

NCC Air Wing (National Cadet Corps) is a youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces aiming to empower the younger generation better. NCC Air wing in the Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College comes under 3 (TN) Air Squadron (TECH) NCC, Tiruchirappalli. NCC Air wing was introduced in the year 2000 as attached vacancy. In the year 2020, Attached vacancy of Air wing was withdrawn and in the year 2021 an exclusive Air wing was raised and are executed with the strength of 50 cadets. The cadets of SRC attend national and regional camps regularly with great enthusiasm and passion and bring accolades to the institution. In addition to regular activities, Social services are being conducted to ameliorate the process of grooming up of the emerging IAF Officers.

  • CSUO. K.R.Vagula Malika of III B.Sc physics attended Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Competition 2025 at Kolhapur, Maharastra from 05.08.2025 to 19.08.2025, All India GV Mavlankar shooting camp at Bhopal ,Madhyapradesh from 27.09.2025 to 15.10.2025. She also participated in the prestigious 68th National Shooting Competition (Nation securities clearing corporation) - 2025 at Bhopal from 01.12.2025 to 31.12.2025 in the 3 position peep sight junior and senior women event. Further, she bagged silver medal in Inter Unit Competition and gold medal in Pre Inter Group Competition.

K.R.Harshini of III B.A Economics and Sgt.Maj.D.Kaviyasree from III B.A English attended Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp-II (EBSB-II) held at Maharastra, OTA Kamptee from 08.12.2025 to 19.12.2025. They participated in cultural exchange program,national integration program and bagged first prize in National Integration Awareness Presentation and culturals.

Prathna Purohit of III B.Sc Botany attended All India Thal Sainik Camp, New Delhi from 01.09.2025 to 12.09.2025, participated in Health and Hygiene event and bagged gold medal in team event. She secured silver medal in team event in the Inter Group Competition. She secured gold medal in individual as well as team event in Health and Hygiene competition in Inter Unit Competition.

A.Abinaya of III B.Com attended All India Thal Sainik Camp held at New Delhi from 01.09.2025 to 12.09.2025, participated in Judging Distance & Field Signals (JDFS) event and won bronze medal in team event. She bagged gold medal in group event and silver medal in individual event in the Inter Group Competition. She won silver medal in individual and group event in Inter Unit Competition. This accomplishment showcases her diligent preparation and sincere efforts, adding laurels to the institution.
  • L/Cpl.M.Kavinmathi of II B.Sc Botany attended All India Thal Sainik Camp held at New delhi from 01.09.2025 to 12.09.2025, participated in Health & Hygiene event and bagged gold medal in team event. She won gold medal in public speaking which is non banner competition at All India Thal Sainik Camp. She also won silver medal in group event in the Inter Group Competition. She bagged the silver medal in individual event and gold medal in group event in the Inter Unit Competition. Further she won gold medal for cultural in Inter Group Competition.

  • Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp I (Haldighati) was held at Udaipur, Rajasthan from 02.01.2024 to 18.01.2024. Cadet Corporal Ms. S. Mysona Preethi, II B.Sc. Physics won first prize in flag area competition and runner up in Kabaddi competition.
  • Cadets from the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar Directorates, along with those from the Rajasthan Directorate, participated in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp I, held at the NCC Training Academy in Madurai from 03.08.2023 to 14.08.2023. Our cadets secured first position in the cultural event by showcasing various dance forms of Tamil Nadu.
  • Cadet Senior Under Officer R. Anupriya, III B.A Economics won overall bronze medal in the 48th Tamil Nadu State Shooting Championship Competition 2023 and qualified for pre nationals.
