PROCESS, RULES AND REGULATIONS TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE STUDENT


EXAM SCHEDULE

EXAM ELIGIBILITY

  • Hall ticket will be sent by email to the student ahead of the exams.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that she has received the hall ticket by email. If she does not receive it, she has to contact her department to receive it before the exams.
  • Student is eligible to write a paper only if she has received her hall ticket by email and that paper is listed in the hall ticket.
  • Student must have a Gmail address duly verified by the Department/College.

QUESTION PAPER

  • The question paper (identified by paper code) will be available on the college website (https://www.srcollege.edu.in).
  • The question paper will be in a password-protected PDF file which can be downloaded by the student.
  • The password will be made available on the website 15 minutes prior to commencement of the exam. This password will be the same for all question papers for that day. A new password will be generated every exam day.
  • If the student finds that a question has an error or perceived to be out-of-syllabus, she can write the answer to that question to the best of her ability. Please DO NOT contact the department or college in such a case. Once the exam is completed, the department/college will take a final decision on such questions in a fair manner following due process.

EXAM WRITING

  • The student must write her answers legibly in A4-sized, unruled sheets in ONE side only. Special-purpose answer sheets (such as maps, account sheets, graph papers, etc.) will be allowed as per the requirements of the question paper. It is the responsibility of the student to have the required answer sheets ready ahead of the exam.
  • The student must write her answers with BLACK ball-point or gel pen only.
  • All answers must be hand-written by the student.
  • In the first answer sheet, the student must write ONLY the following information and leave the rest of the sheet blank.
    Date:
    Register Number:
    Programme:
    Subject:
    Semester:
    Paper Code:
    Paper Title:
    Total No. of Answer Sheets:
    Declaration by Student:
    I have read and understood all the rules and regulations listed on the college website pertaining to the conduct of online semester exams and agree to strictly abide by them.


    Student Signature
  • In the top portion of every answer sheet (including the first answer sheet), the student should write:
    Register Number
    Student Signature
    Page Number
    (in the format Page x of y. For example, Page 1 of 10, Page 2 of 10, ….., Page 10 of 10)

SCANNING

  • The student must scan the answer sheets after completing the exam using a proper scanner software/app such as Microsoft Office Lens, Adobe Scan, etc. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the scanned pages are complete and readable.
  • After scanning, the student must create a single PDF file consisting of all the answer sheets. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the file is readable and not corrupted in any way.
  • The PDF file should be named as
    <register number>-<day of exam>.pdf
    For example, if it is Day 2 exam,
    U18BIE099-day2.pdf
    or
    U19ECD099-day2.pdf
    or
    P19MAD099-day2.pdf
    Please ensure that the above format for the filename is EXACTLY followed so that your email will be handled by the automated system correctly. DO NOT use spaces in the filename.
  • The size of the PDF file MUST be less than 10 MB.

SUBMISSION

  • The student must use her college-verified Gmail address to send the PDF file. Submissions from other email addresses will NOT be accepted.
  • The student will have to email the PDF file as an attachment to the appropriate email address mentioned in the webpage listing the question papers.
  • The SUBJECT field of the email MUST contain the following string:
    <register number>-<day of exam>
    For example, if it is Day 2 exam, the email SUBJECT will be:
    U18BIE099-day2
    or
    U19ECD099-day2
    or
    P19MAD099-day2
    Please ensure that the above format is followed EXACTLY as it is very important for student identification purposes.DO NOT use spaces in writing the above.
  • The entire exam process will take 7 hours which should be spent as follows:
    1 hour:
         a. Download the question paper (PDF file).
         b. Open the question paper (PDF file) using password.
         c. In case of problems with downloading or opening the question paper, the student must contact her department faculty immediately.
         d. Read the question paper thoroughly.
    3 hours:
         a. Complete the first answer sheet as instructed.
         b. Write the exam while clearly following the instructions given in the question paper.
    3 hours:
         a. Scan the answer sheets in the correct order into a PDF file.
         b. Rename the PDF file as instructed.
         c. Verify that the PDF file is correct and readable.
         d. Email the PDF file as attachment as instructed.
    Email should be received no later than 7 hours after the scheduled start of the exam. Late submissions will NOT be accepted for any reason. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure timely submission.
  • Please DO NOT email the file more than once.
  • The student should keep the written answer sheets safely in her possession. The college may require them to be submitted at a later date.
