The Philately Club of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami college is a specialized interest group dedicated to the appreciation and study of postage stamps and philatelic items. It provides students with a space to explore philately as both a hobby and an academic pursuit, offering insights into history, geography, culture, and art through stamps. The club promotes global awareness, attention to detail, and the preservation of history, while also encouraging creativity and a sense of community among students who share a love for philately.
GOALS
- Promote historical and cultural awareness by exploring the stories behind various stamps.
- Foster philatelic knowledge, focusing on stamp collection skills and understanding the philatelic market.
- Encourage collaboration through exhibitions, workshops, and stamp exchanges, building a community of philatelists.
- The Philately Club aims at gaining knowledge of stamps from various countries and historical periods, highlighting the cultural, historical, and artistic value of stamps as miniature windows into the world.
