Hackathons are crucial for driving technological progress, personal and professional growth, and community engagement, making them a cornerstone of modern innovation ecosystems.Hackathon club provides a platform for participants to brainstorm, experiment, and create solutions to real-world problems within a limited timeframe. The club bring together people from diverse backgrounds, including developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and subject matter experts.

The Institution’s Innovation Council and Hackathon Club of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College jointly organised Intercollegiate Hackathon 2025 Innovative Solutions to Emerging Challenges SIH 2025 on 16 th , 17 th &18 th of September 2025. The event was meticulously created to post a creativity analytical equipment and innovative thinking among students. It's served as an empowering platform that encourage participants to trans translate abstract concepts into practical solutions. On 16 th September Dr. A. Maria Jackson conducted an insightful session on the submission of problem statements and innovative ideas for the Smart India Hackathon 2025. The session guided students on how to frame their ideas effectively and align them with real-world problem-solving approaches. On 17 th September On the second day, faculty members from various disciplines formed an internal scrutiny committee to evaluate the students’ presentations. They reviewed each idea carefully, provided constructive feedback, and offered valuable suggestions to strengthen and refine the proposed solutions. On day 3, 18thSeptember the keynote address was delivered by Dr. M. V. Alli, Principal Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College. The special address was given by Dr. A Maria Jackson, IIC Convenor, SRM TRP Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli, who inspired the participant by providing suggestions with meaningful impact. Dr Jackson and Dr. M. Umar scrutinize nearly 34 teams which consists of 204 students and selected two teams as winners. The students of Computer Science won I prize and received cash award of Rs. 2,000/- and the students of Mathematics Department won II prize and received cash award of Rs.1,000/-.

The Intracollegiate Hackathon 2026, organized jointly by the Institution’s Innovation Council and the Hackathon Club of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, was successfully conducted on 25 th and 26 th February 2026 at Vidhya Ganapathy Hall. The event served as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, technical skills, and innovative thinking while addressing real-world challenges. With the theme “Smart Ideas into Strong Solutions,” the hackathon brought together enthusiastic participants who demonstrated remarkable problem-solving abilities and collaborative spirit. The formal session began with a warm welcome address delivered by the Principal, who highlighted the institution’s continuous commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and experiential learning among students. She emphasized that such initiatives empower young minds to translate ideas into impactful solutions that contribute to societal progress. The highlight of the event was the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. A. P. Aruna, Chief Executive Officer of Periyar Technology Business Incubator at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology. In her keynote address, she appreciated the institution for creating a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures innovation and encouraged students to think beyond conventional boundaries. She stressed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, resilience, and continuous learning in transforming ideas into successful ventures. The programme concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the best five teams were recognized and appreciated for their excellence. Overall, the Intracollegiate Hackathon 2026 proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, reinforcing the institution’s vision of nurturing innovative thinkers and socially responsible leaders

Smart India Hackathon - SIH-2024- An Intracollegiate Event

The Institution's Innovation Council of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College organized an "Intracollegiate Hackathon 2024" in collaboration with the KR-Start-up Incubation & Innovation Foundation (KR-SIIF), Samayapuram, Tiruchirappalli, on the 12th and 13th of September 2024. This event mainly aimed to promote creativity, critical thinking, and innovation among students, providing them with a platform to transform ideas into solutions. The event was conducted under the theme "Transforming Ideas into Reality".

Nearly 59 teams, comprising 236 students from various disciplines, participated and presented their ideas. Mr. G. Arunkumar and Mr. M. M. Prem Nivas, Director and Founder of Bharath Cane Private Limited, and Dr. S. Saravanan, Professor and Head of Student Affairs, KRCT, Tiruchirappalli, were on the panel of judges. Teams presented their ideas in an open forum, and two teams were recognized as the best and awarded cash prizes. Twenty-six teams were selected to register on the portal of Smart India Hackathon 2024. All 59 teams were also registered in the MSME portal.
